Blake Wood – RHP

Wood signed with the Reds as a free agent prior to the 2015 season. Control has always been the main issue for the right-hander. He has the ability to get the fastball up in the mid to high 90s, with an off speed pitch in the high 80s. Wood spent his entire 2015 season in the Pirates organization with Triple-A Indianapolis, where he saw some of the best control that he has in his career. He also saw some of his best strikeout numbers as well, as his K/9 was 10.7 and his BB/9 was down to 3.8. The numbers allowed Wood to pick up 29 saves during the season. Wood had Tommy John surgery in 2012 season and had a really tough time regaining the command after.
