Daal has been seeing time at both second base and his natural shortstop in the Minor League levels. Daal originally signed with the Reds before the 2013 season from Curacao and turns 23 at the end of the 2016 season, making him younger for the Double-A level. His speed and awareness as a basestealer has been improving as well, as he has racked up 13 and 21 steals in 2014 and ’15, while only being caught eight total times between the two seasons. While the batting averages have been there, Daal does not earn a lot of walks, impacting his OBP tremendously. He also does not have much power, which combines to lower his total OPS.
