Rogers was a 2010 28th round pick by the Reds. After the draft, he was bitten by a shark while surfing, costing him some time. He eventually signed in August and began throwing again. Rogers reached Double-A by the 2012 season and Triple-A by 2013, but has made slow progress since then. Since 2013, Rogers has been working primarily in relief after beginning his career as a starter. He struggled in the beginning and that lead to him being outrighted off the 40-Man in 2014. While he has seen spotty command issues, his control has been good overall throughout his career. He works primarily with a sinking fastball in the low-90s, while working in a slider as well.
