Jagielo was acquired by the Reds with Rookie Davis, Caleb Cotham, and Tony Renda in the Aroldis Chapman trade prior to the 2016 season from the Yankees. He was drafted in the first round of the 2013 draft by New York out of Notre Dame. Jagielo has the raw power that is desired from a third baseman, but he is still getting that honed in with the averages. However, he has also shown that he is not afraid to take a walk if he doesn’t get the right pitch. He is not the strongest defensive third baseman and probably strikes out too much as some downsides.
