John Lamb – LHP

Lamb was acquired, along with Brandon Finnegan, as return for Johnny Cueto from the Royals in 2015. He certainly has the ability to miss bats, as a just under nine K/9 career pitcher in eight minor league seasons. In a smaller sample size, that increases to just under 10 at the big league level. While he misses bats at times, he also pitches to a lot of contact, allowing well over a hit per inning in 2015 after the trade. Lamb had surgery to repair a bulging disc in his back following the 2015 season, causing his 2016 season to get off to a bit of a slow start. Lamb has had elbow issues in the past and even had Tommy John surgery in 2011. As a high school draftee, Lamb still has age on his side, starting the 2016 season at 25. Lamb has both a two-seam and four-seam fastball that sit in the low-90s. He also has a cutter in the high-80s and a change in the high-70s to low-80s.
