At 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, Perez has developed into a solid defender and mixes in some sneaky power as well. The former 2011 26th round pick of the Reds Perez, made it to Double-A in just his second professional season. He was able to showcase his speed in both rookie short season and Single-A with 39 stolen bases in 57 attempts in 2011 and ’12. Perez played both 2013 and ’14 in High-A Bakersfield, where the power was really able to be showcased. Between the two seasons, he hit 25 home runs and 55 doubles. In 2012, he had 27 doubles and nine home runs. One of the biggest adjustments for Perez was defensively, as he made 34 errors in 2012 and 25 in 2013. After returning to Double-A in 2015 for a bit of a down season, Perez was promoted to Triple-A by the end of the year and returned for the 2016 season.
