Waldrop has been up and down with the Reds recently in his career, but has spent much of the past two seasons with Triple-A Louisville. Waldrop was originally a 12th round pick out of high school by the Reds in 2010. He has spent about a year to make it through each level of the system and has seen time in Triple-A since 2015. He has already seen over 800 at bats above Double-A by age 24. Waldrop has a career Minor League batting average approaching .280 and OPS just over .750. He had back-to-back seasons of 21 and 14 home runs, but the power has not carried over to the upper level. A vast majority of his hits in Triple-A have been singles.
