Travieso won the Reds Minor League Pitcher of the Year honors in 2014 after posting a 3.04 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP, and 114 strikeouts in 142 innings with Low-A Dayton. This earned him an invite to big league camp the following Spring. Travieso, a 2012 first round pick by the Reds, also had a strong 2015 campaign with High-A Dayton, before making the jump to Double-A for the 2016 season. The season did not get off to the start that Travieso would like, as his ERA was over five by the end of May. Travieso works with a sinking fastball in the low-90s, but can touch 95. He also has a slider in the high-80s and an improving changeup.
