Raffy Lopez – C

Lopez was signed by the Reds out of Independent ball in 2016. He was originally drafted as a 16th round pick by the Cubs in 2011. Lopez made his big league debut with the Cubs in 2014, playing in seven games. He was DFA’d by the Cubs in 2015 and traded to the Los Angeles Angels. After showing up in the independent ranks in 2016, and playing in seven games, he caught the Reds eye. Lopez is a career .277 Minor League hitter through mid-May, but is very limited in the power department. Lopez is average defensively, and looks like a Minor League depth option, but could be pushed forward with the Reds’ lack of catching depth options.
