Cabrera was originally signed by the Pirates as a 16-year-old out of Venezuela in 2008. By 2012, Cabrera had already reached Triple-A and saw success hitting at each of the upper Minor League levels. Cabrera was picked up by the Tigers and then eventually was returned to the Pirates before joining the Reds as a free agent in 2015. In 317 at bats that season with Triple-A Louisville that season, Cabrera hit .290 with 14 doubles and received a cup of coffee and his big league debut with the Reds. The 26-year-old Cabrera has split time between Louisville and Cincinnati in 2016.
