Mejias-Brean was an eighth round pick in the 2012 draft out of Arizona by the Reds. The power has yet to completely develop for him, but Mejias-Brean has not lost a step defensively in the upper levels. He has compiled seasons of 11 and 14 home runs in the 2013 and ’14 seasons. However, he has only hit 10 home runs in 722 at bats in the upper levels through mid-May with 28 doubles in the same span. The batting average has not transitioned to the upper levels yet, and Mejias-Brean still has a ways to go offensively.
