Tyler Stephenson – C

Stephenson was the Reds top selection in the 2015 draft with the 11th overall pick out of high school. After dominating the rookie league levels in 2015, Stephenson battled injuries at the beginning of the 2016 season at Low-A Dayton. Stephenson is a taller catcher, but does not see the drawbacks defensively that can be attributed to that with all of the moving parts. In 2015, Stephenson hit .273 with a .727 OPS. He had just one home run, but added 16 doubles. In his first 92 at bats of the 2016 season, Stephenson was hitting just .196 with a .539 OPS, but injuries certainly played a role.
