Signed as an 18-year-old before the 2010 season out of the Dominican Republic, Peralta has spent just about a full season at each Minor League level before reaching Triple-A in 2016. As his career has gone along, Peralta has become much more of a strikeout pitcher from the left side in 2016, with a drastic improvement in command. He walked just three in his first 21 innings, while striking out 23 in that span. Prior to 2016, Peralta’s career BB/9 sat around four and K/9 was around seven. Peralta spent a good deal of time as a starter in the lower levels, before transitioning to the bullpen. Peralta is even more effective for his career against righties than lefties in the upper levels.
