After starting the 2016 season on the DL with a hamstring injury, Rodriguez got a slow start. Rodriguez is a tall and long athlete, who has several tools that project well at the upper levels. He is still raw at the plate, but the skill have developed as he has matured within the system. Rodriguez signed with the Reds as a 16-year-old out of Venezuela in 2009 for a large signing bonus. The power has been slow to develop, but he hit 10 home runs and 13 doubles in 308 at bats with Triple-A Louisville in 2015. He also smacked nine home runs and 20 doubles in 450 at bats in Double-A the season before. The batting average also rose and the strikeouts fell slightly with it. Finding a balance will be a key for Rodriguez.
