Zack Shields – OF

Shields was originally selected by the Reds in the 10th round of the 2015 draft out of North Carolina-Wilmington. Though he advanced to Low-A in just his second pro season, Shields has struggled with the bat early in his career. In 2015, he hit just .220 in 168 at bats in the rookie league. Additionally, in his first 122 at bats in the 2016 season, Shields was up to .246 and a .632 OPS, but the power is extremely limited, as he had just 16 extra base hits over that year and a half span.
