After beating hometown hero Wil Myers 11-10 in the opening round with nearly a minute still left on the clock, Adam Duvall fell to defending champion Todd Frazier 16-15 in the semifinals of the All-Star Home Run Derby Monday night.
Frazier, who was traded from the Reds during the offseason, beat the Rockies’ Carlos Gonzalez 13-12 in the opening round.
Duvall lasted until the final minute against Frazier, but eventually fell.
Frazier then lost in the final to Giancarlo Stanton, who was hitting absolute bombs all night.
Duvall will now move on to the All-Star game itself on Tuesday night, along side fellow Red Jay Bruce. Both players will be reserve outfielders for the National League.
