After another subpar outing by John Lamb on Saturday night, the Reds decided to option Lamb to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday morning.
The corresponding move was recalling outfielder Kyle Waldrop from Louisville.
On the season, Lamb is 1-7 with a 6.43 ERA. However, the most alarming stat is his 1.64 WHIP and the 84 hits in 70 innings.
Waldrop hit .269 in 216 at bats with Louisville. In a cup of coffee in Cincinnati, Waldrop hit .313 in 16 at bats.
Lamb appears to have lost confidence in his stuff, having been hit hard this season. Time and success in Louisville could aid that before coming back at the end of the season.
