Result: Louisville 6, Charlotte 2

Starting Pitcher: Homer Bailey, RHP – 4.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 4 K

Top Hitter: Scott Schebler, CF – 2-for-5, 2 R

Other Notable Performers:

Jermaine Curtis, DH – 2-for-5, HR, 2 R, RBI

Chris Berset, C – 2-for-4, HR, R, 2 RBI

Game Notes: Following Monday night’s effort, Homer Bailey admitted that he is catching a flight to San Francisco, where the Reds are, on Tuesday morning.

In the contest, Bailey worked his way up to 98 pitches. While this is has many pitches as he has thrown in a game since his Tommy John surgery, he could be going to the big league team to be physically checked out for how his arm responds. It also means that Bailey could be activated for his next start. Either way, it is good news.

As for the game, Bailey struggled with command, leading to his only working 4.1 innings. He walked four hitters and threw only 57 of his 98 pitches for strikes.

Scott Schebler added two more hits for Louisville. Schebler has hit in seven straight games, with four consecutive being multi-hit efforts.

Jesse Winker was removed for a pinch hitter and snapped his 10-game hit streak.

Daniel Wright worked 4.2 scoreless innings of relief. He was much more effective out of the bullpen on Monday night than he has been as a starter lately.

Top Hitter: Nick Senzel – 1-for-4

Other Notable Performers:

Game Notes:  Dayton was only able to add two hits in the contest and a pair of walks. With this, they were not able to crack the scoring column and gave Jacob Constante no support.

Constante wasn’t bad overall, but still walked two hitters in five innings.

Senzel is now 9-for-21 in his last seven games with six walks and seven strikeouts.

Result: Orem 6, Billings 5

Santillan was perfect through the first three innings and struck out the side in the second.

However, back-to-back singles and then a three run homer in the fourth doomed his stat line for the night in the run column.

Santillan rebounded and was perfect in the fifth again, before hitting and walking a batter in his final inning, but working around them.

Montrell Marshall added two hits, and has hits in six of his last nine games with three multi-hit efforts. Two of his last three games include two hits in each.
