The Reds wanted Daniel Sweet so bad that they actually drafted him twice. First, the Reds took him in the 23rd round in 2012 out of high school. After he didn’t sign and went to college, the Reds selected him again in 29th round in 2016 from Dallas Baptist University. After just 24 games with Billings in 2016, Sweet hit .333 with a 1.049 OPS and was elevated to Dayton. Sweet is a speedster and has the ability to both steal bases and cover ground in the outfield. If he is able to continue to get on base, that could become a real weapon.
