Game recap (8/12/16): Jackson Stephens tosses a complete game

louisville

Result: Louisville 9, Gwinnett 8

Game Notes: Coming off his worst start of the season last time out, Rookie Davis lasted just four inning in his second Triple-A start as well.

Davis tossed 70 pitches and allowed 7 hits over those four.

Beau Amaral added two hits and a double and has hit in seven games in a row. This also includes 10 of the last 11 games at the level.

Jose Peraza added two hits as well.

pensacola

Result: Pensacola 8, Tennessee 0

Game notes: Alex Blandino continued his tear in August, with three more hits and a double.

Sebastian Elizalde added two more knocks, while Zack Vincej hit a double and Kyle Skipworth homered.

Jackson Stephens tossed a complete game, seven-inning, shutout. He allowed just five hits and struck out 10 for his best start of the season.

daytona

Result: Daytona 5, Tampa 2

Game Notes: While Keury Mella did allow five hits and two runs, he still struck out seven in six quality innings for his best start in nearly a month.

Shed Long picked up two more hits and a home run Friday night. That marked nine of the last 11 games that he has picked up a hit. Over that stretch, he also has seven multi-hit games.

The slimping Aristides Aquino also added a pair of knocks and a home run.

dayton

Result: South Bend 10, Dayton 1

Game Notes: Nick Senzel added two more hits on Friday night in a losing effort for Dayton.

However, Senzel is bouncing back from his first real slump at Low-A.

Tyler Stephenson hammered his first home run since returning from the DL with a wrist injury.

Antonio Santillan had another rough start on Friday night, allowing six hits and five runs in 4.2 innings. He also walked four.

billings

Result: Billings 7, Ogden 6

Game notes: Hector Vargas added three hits and a double, while Alejo Lopez added two of his own.

John Sansone hit his eighth home run of the season and T.J. Friedl went 1-for-5.

Starter Moises Nova got just one out before being removed after tossing 31 pitches.
