Game Notes: While Keury Mella did allow five hits and two runs, he still struck out seven in six quality innings for his best start in nearly a month.
Shed Long picked up two more hits and a home run Friday night. That marked nine of the last 11 games that he has picked up a hit. Over that stretch, he also has seven multi-hit games.
The slimping Aristides Aquino also added a pair of knocks and a home run.
